Zimbabwe Equity Markets | 14 Oct 2015: ZSE Industrial Index retreats further into red zone, Market Cap down by US$4 Mill….
Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index ended the session today retreating further into the red zone as the main index fell again during the days trading. The Industrial Index lost by 0.16 points to close 130.74 points, down by 0.12 percent. The ZSE Industrial index year-to-date settled at 19.68 percent.
The market capitalisation ended at US$3,413 billion down by US$4 million compared to the US$3.417 billion recorded in the previous session.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$174,997, up by US$64,845 from the previous session, exchanged in 10 traded securities via 34 trade transactions. Five Foreign investor buys were recorded today by Delta Corporation Limited for US$42,695, Innscor Africa Limited for US$42,000, Old Mutal PLC for US$39,698, Rainbow Tourism Group for US$18 and foreign sales of CBZ Holdings Limited for US$6,705.
In terms of values and volumes traded among the 10 traded securities, Innscor Africa Limited recorded US$78,969 exchanged in 131,483 traded stocks, CBZ Holdings Limited totalled US$7,831 exchanged in 87,007 traded securities, Delta Corporation Limited recorded US$43,839 exchanged in 53,567 traded stocks and Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe Limited totalled US$2,289 exchanged in 52,978 traded securities.
In terms of market activity/market strength, there were three price gainers and five price losers with two prices that remained unchanged, hence the market strength ended positive. The price gainers were Delta Corporation Limited closed at US$0.8184 after increasing by 0.41 percent, Seed co Limited closed at US$0.9900 after increasing by 4.00.23 percent and Innscor Africa Limited closed at US$0.6006 after increasing by 0.21 percent.
The price losers were Rainbow Tourism Group decreased by 20.00 percent or US$0.00080 to close at US$0.0760, National Tyre Services Limited decreased by 15.00 percent or US$0.00030 to close at US$0.0170, CBZ Holdings Limited which decreased by 5.26 percent or US$0.00050 to close at US$0.0900 and Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe Limited decreased by 1.81 percent or US$0.0008 to close at US$0.0432.
The Mining index continued to remain on a flat path to close at 23.57 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0130, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited also maintained their previous price levels.
